2012 Ssamzie Sound Festival Auditions : Rock Edition

Following up on the indie rock, we proceed with rock of a more classic cut as we learn more about all the bands auditioning to be one of Ssamzie Sound Festival’s Hidden Masters. Don’t forget to vote for your favorites before Wednesday, September 12th.

 

Nukie


Rock band Nukie have been around for a few years, but only released their first single in the beginning of 2012. They auditioned for this year’s Sangsang Madang Band Incubating and came out as one of three winners. Right now they’re talking about making their first album. Facebook. Twitter. YouTube.

Met


Starting out as a one man band, Met became a classic rock trio in February this year. The band auditioned for Top Band 2 where they were eliminated in favor of Crimson Butterfly Ensemble during the Triple Tournaments.
Following a series of digital singles Met released an EP at the very beginning of February with the first full-length album scheduled for release this September. Facebook.

The Reading Club


Four member strong The Reading Club formed in 2010. The members had a broad background, having previously played in other bands, worked with musicals, drama soundtracks and as session musicians. The band released EP 세상에서 가장 큰 피그미 in 2010. The Reading Club’s first full-length should be out some time before the end of the year.

ECE


Rock band ECE formed as a trio in 2011 and became a full-fledged band this year with the addition of a bassist. No music released yet, but they’re gigging frequently with the desire to always bring fresh music and performances to the audience.

Party Maker


Merging rock’n’roll with punk and LA metal, Party Maker started playing around Hongdae in 2007. The first single came a couple of years later and after a stunt on the first season of Top Band, where they made the Top 24 and received coaching from Kim Do Kyun, the band’s first full-length album Get It Down was release in May this year. onEr


Young band onEr has only been around since March this year. When playing in Hongdae they’ll be found on rock clubs such as Sapiens7 and Queen Live Hall.

Tangadool


After a hiatus because of military service, blues oriented rock’n’roll band Tangadool made a return in 2011. The band auditioned for Top Band 2 where they were eliminated in favor of MetallateM+ during the Triple Tournaments. So far they’ve released on EP, 시대 착오자.
