This is old news by now, but since there is still a week to go before the 4th Seoul Record Fair takes place–June 28-29 at Platoon Kunsthalle–I figured I should follow up my post on this year’s special vinyl editions with something on the two releases announced later.
The first three vinyl re-issues announced for the record fair were No Brain‘s 1st album, Sister’s Barbershop‘s 5th album and Kim Mokin‘s 1st album. Additionally there will be two vinyl hiphop releases available for this event.
DJ Soulscape – 180g Beats
180g Beats was DJ Soulscape‘s first album, first released in 2000 by Master Plan on both CD and vinyl. As the album title implies it’ll be pressed on 180g vinyl, although unlike the first 2xLP edition it seems this new press has managed to fit all songs on just one record. The album was ranked at no. 77 when gaseum had music experts compile the 100 Best Korean Albums in 2007. 180g Beats features early performances from MC Meta, Leo Kekoa and Rimshot‘s Daephal as well as Da Crew‘s Seven.
Illionaire Records – 11:11
On May 21st this year Illionaire Records put out the album 11:11, where founders The Quiett and Dok2 and fellow label rapper Beenzino had teamed up for a total of 11 songs. This album too features MC Meta, with Jay Park, Sean2slow and Zion.T also contributing on one song each.
