Looking through Hyang Music’s pre-contract section I found three interesting releases out tomorrow, January 5:
Female singer/songwriter Nabi recorded the sensible Nobody Knows for Live Club Bbang Compilation 3 (something that although I haven’t listened to him much kinda reminds me of Elliott Smith), and will finally release a self-titled EP, 나비. I’m pretty sure I read her name connected to “psychedelic” in something from Ruby Salon the other day, but I can’t seem to find the context just now so exactly what to make of it I’m not sure…
The release info for diskoRokket‘s debut EP Into The Diskostation starts strong by mentioning a 70s/80s disco sound. Further reading reveals a bit of acid new jazz, house, and gospel – could prove quite interesting. The electronica duo has its female half hyoz take care of all the singing stuff, whereas male half jayswing deals with the programming and handles a guitar. It appears the EP was released online already December 23.
Ballad act Islander too appear to have gone with a digital release first, as the self-titled EP made it online on December 29 – about the same time as the music video for 웃다가 울다가, promoting movie The Fair Love (페어러브), showed up.
