The last Hello Rookie auditions of the year were held today at Rolling Hall. Ten acts competed to be named Hello Rookie for the month of November and in the end female singer-songwriters Park Soyu and Fromm each won 1 million won in addition to the title. The two women will make their respective Hello Rookie performances at EBS Space on October 19th.
Park Soyu released her first digital single Oheyo in June this year. Last November she was a guest at eAeon‘s concert at CJ Azit, performing her own songs as well as covering Mot and singing together with eAeon himself. Park Soyu’s YouTube channel has samples of her work. Here’s a demo for a song called “Still I”, uploaded in August:
Fromm released her first digital single 사랑 아니었나 in May this year. She’s signed to Showmust and have been heard singing together with label mates Locomotive and Peterpan Complex as well as Tete. Those planning to attend GMF2012 have a chance to catch Fromm live on the Saturday. Here’s a video of Fromm singing “Merry Go Round” an evening by the water:
