In December of 2012 a full 35 years will have passed since the release of Sanullim‘s very first album, 산울림 새노래 모음. This of course is cause to celebrate, so this year we can look forward to no less than two albums of Sanullim covers and remixes. Leading up to those albums a number of digital singles with Sanullim covers have been released since the beginning of August. The most recent one is called Reborn 산울림 Track 10 and came out today, January 6th. This time we get to hear a ska version of rock classic “가지마오” offered by Kingston Rudieska.

Since the series was launched a number of artist from both the indie scene and elsewhere have had their Sanullim remakes released as singles. First out were Crying Nut with their version of “아니 벌써” and next up was Kim Bada with his Art of Parties that had taken on “아마 늦은 여름이었을 거야“:
Acoustic 10cm covered “기타로 오토바이를 타자” as Track 3 early September whereas original Sanullim brother and leader Kim Chang Wan did a new take on “내 마음에 주단을 깔고” as Track 8 early December.
October brought a total of three new tracks to the series with traditional Korean music crossover act Ccotbyel doing “내게 사랑은 너무 써” as Track 4, pop songstress Ali doing “내가 고백을 하면 깜짝 놀랄 거야” as Track 5, and esteemed jazz artist Woong San doing “찻잔” as Track 6.
It wasn’t till the end of November that Track 7 was released, revealing “무지개” as performed by Galaxy Express. Adding more diversity to the series Track 9 came out on December 23rd with acappella group Maytree singing “안녕”.
