Winners of Mint Paper Awards 2011

On January 2nd the results from Mint Paper Awards 2011 were published. Today followed a set of videos where the winners get to say their thanks to the music experts and Mint Paper members (‘minters’) that voted for them during the first half of December.

Rookie of The Year: Glen Check

Artist of The Year: 10cm

Glen Check recorded their video in English and revealed plans for a fist full length-album to be released mid-February:

Antenna Music Warriors was the name of a concert  held in May 2011 showcasing artists from Antennamusic, including Peppertones and Lucid Fall, with a digital release featuring highlights following a couple of months later. Here they are performing You Hee Yeol‘s “여름날”:

 

With close to 800,000 views on YouTube the music video for “그렇고 그런 사이” can hardly have been missed and may have contributed to the song’s success:

 

Of course with a set of winners there are the nominees that didn’t quite make it in their respective categories. Nevertheless they shouldn’t be forgotten and may serve as a starting point when looking for something new to listen to:
