September 8 is a Thursday and that means time for a new Tribute90 digital single. This week we get to hear Super Kidd do an updated version of Jo Sung Mo‘s 90s classic To Heaven for ‘Tribute90’ Part.4 – To Heaven.

Super Kidd does Tribute90
Hmm, I think the song itself resisted the Super Kidd cover. It didn’t sound right until the chorus, but at that point, it didn’t sound particularly different from the original. I think a more pop/folk oriented musician (EZ Hyoung, Han Heejung) might’ve been better capable of handling the song. I think Korean American singer-songwriter ClaraC might have done something interesting with it as well.
I was quite underwhelmed by the way it turned out as well. Super Kidd were not quite their goofy selves, perhaps that’s why.
