I’ve been waiting for this for a while, and finally it is here: the “new issue” of the Pastel Music website! As much as I would like to say that this is just so much better than the old site, I’m afraid it doesn’t work all that well for me right now… Perhaps it’s Firefox, perhaps it’s Linux, or perhaps the new design was just launched before it had any functionality to support it – you will have to try it yourselves. A taste of things to come (also not Firefox/Linux compatible) can be found at sunsetsoon. Paired with the previous two posts here, I’m inclined to believe that Pastel Music – as the biggest actor among South Korea’s indie labels – has finally caught up with the rest of the world (as far as indie music labels go, that is…) and realized that making it easier for potential fans to sample music – especially through downloads – is the easiest way to make more fans for the artists. Seeing as many of Pastel Music’s artists have great international potential, I’m hoping the new site will be a little more accommodating towards those that can’t understand Korean, but I guess I’ll have to see about that once I’m back home by a Windows computer (now equipped with a fully functional wireless network adapter from Linksys).
