Some of the releases expected to come out this next week were covered in the July releases posts from last week. Here are some that weren’t (and more details on the one that was):
Electronic duo MDS has been remixing indie music out of Hongdae, giving the songs a new sound on the album I Am The Remix. 10 songs are included on the tracklist meaning that we’ll soon be able to hear new versions of 석봉아 (Bulnabang Star Sossage Club), 달이 차오른다 가자 (Chang Kiha & The Faces), Livin’ In Today (Ynot?), Robot Dreams (Pika), Love Song (Oh Ji Eun), I Can’t Control (Telepathy), Oh Yeah (cheezstereo), 그들이 온다 (Huckleberry Finn), 오늘밤은 어둠이 무서워요 (10cm), and 재회 (Pudditorium).
Time for the much anticipated comeback of The Black Skirts has come! The title is Don’t You Worry Baby (I’m Only Swimming) and the style will be somewhat different from that of 2008 success album 201. More to come about that soon.
Not to be confused with the trot singer carrying the same name, Lee Hye Me is about to release her first full length album, 왜너는다른. The title track was inspired by Kim Ch’un-su’s poem Fountain.
Mellow band Manggakhwa will soon release second single 나만 아는 이야기. It’s been four years since the release of debut single 고래, containing songs such as 305. Guitarist Yang Joo Yeong has kept performing since and have been playing all songs from the new single for quite some time already: 잊는다; 나만 아는 이야기; 조금 많이; 포니보이.
Singer/songwriter and “street activist” Esssin has been making his own music for more than a decade and a half already, but it is not until now that his first self-titled full length album is ready for release. Hear him playing on the streets via YouTube.
