Indieful ROK 2.0

New releases, March 29

Following a couple of digital singles, the last one being Time Machine in 2009, female fronted catchy rock band Hush Creek is releasing first CD, and EP called Someday, on March 29. Although billed as an EP, it includes no more than three new songs with two of them also appearing in instrumental versions.

Indie rock band Munk too is making a CD debut on March 29, after having released EP Dawn as a digital on March 9. The band appears to have a fan in YouTube user mihye1217 that has already been uploading Munk performances to YouTube for almost all songs on the tracklist:

02. 볼 수 없어 (@Freebird)
03. 잊어도 돼 (@DGBD)
05. 새벽 (@ SangSang Madang)

Another interesting release on March 29 is 광인 컴필레이션 2011, or 2011 Gwangju Indie Music Compilation – as the name very much implies a compilation of songs from bands hailing from Gwangju. Most participating bands may be unknown to those not already well acquainted with the indie scene in Gwangju, but it also contains new songs from pop punk bands Windy Cat and BEtty Ass that both released EPs last year.

Update 7:52am: It was pointed out by DaninGwangju in the comments that this compilation has been produced by Electric Muse‘s Kim Mingyu. DaninGwangju also notes that there’s a good mix of styles on this compilation – and perhaps I should’ve pointed out already before that participating hiphop guy Jinslyme had EP Don’t Be Alone released in the very beginning of the year.
